The order of Ise Jingu shrine begins with performing rituals ‘Misogi’ at Futami Kodama Shrine, an ancient practice. The ritual that has been performed since the ancient times during the “Ise Visit” is called “Hamasangu”.
Even today, Hamasangu is the first before Okihiki Ise citizens consecrate shiraishi and timber during the Shikinen-Shigeru once every 20 years.
